stone age cave paintingsWas stone age man on drugs while undertaking the cave paintings that have been found around the world?  This is part of a new theory put forward that suggests that similar patterns used in cave paintings found across the planet is a result of the brain under the influence of drugs rather than them all learning similar artistic  patterns simultaneously.

An international research team put forth this theory – that cave men and women used ‘altered states’ to put down their visions as paintings.  Recent archeological discoveries have suggested to the researchers that humans living 40,000 and older during the Paleolithic Age used mind altering stimulants as part of a complex titual that involved cave paintings  You can read more on this interesting topic here.
