Ascend Recovery

Ascend Recovery is a private-pay addiction and dual-diagnosis treatment program located in American Fork, Utah, at the base of the Wasatch Front. The program serves adult men and women working to recover from substance use disorders, often alongside co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. Ascend's model is built around a phased continuum of care rather than a single fixed stay, allowing clients to step down in structure as they build stability and life skills.

Care is delivered across three phases: a residential phase (Lakehouse) that provides the most structured, clinically intensive setting; an extended-care phase (Eagle View) that maintains therapeutic support while increasing independence; and a transitional living phase (Montgomery House) that bridges treatment and a return to daily life. Clinically, Ascend Recovery emphasizes trauma-informed and attachment-based treatment. Modalities described by the program include EMDR, psychodrama, and somatic techniques, paired with experiential and adventure-based programming that takes advantage of the surrounding Utah landscape. Dual-diagnosis care integrates psychiatric support with individual and group therapy so that addiction and underlying mental health concerns are addressed together.

The program holds The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval, a national accreditation that signals adherence to recognized standards for behavioral health care. On the financial side, Ascend Recovery operates as an out-of-network, private-pay program. It works with major commercial PPO carriers, including BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Humana, to help families offset costs, and it accepts private self-payment.
