STAY AWAY!! KEEP YOUR SON, FATHER, BROTHER, UNCLE EVEN GRANFATHER OUT OF THIS PLACE! THERE ADVERTISEMENTS OF HOW THEY PORTRAY THE PROGRAM ALL LIES. SIR IS A CONCEITED SELF SERVING JERK. NO VISITS NO PHONE CALLS NO LETTERS. JUST WORK WORK WORK YOUR ASS OFF TO MAKE LIFE EASY FOR SIR. IF YOU CALL JERICHO TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROGRAM THEY WILL LIE TO YOU. YOU CAN NOT GO BY THE WORDS THEY TELL YOU. WE HAVE SEEN HIM HIT CLIENTS AND I DON’T MEAN A TAP. HE HIT HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE CLIENTS BLEED. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SEEN THIS. BUT SOME HOW HE ALWAYS GETS OUT OF THINGS BY LIING TO THE POLICE. ACTING LIKE BECAUSE HE IS THE CEO AND HAS BEEN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS SO HE WOULD NEVER ACT THAT WAY AND USING THE FACT THAT THE CLIENT WAS RECENTLY RELEASED FROM JAIL SO THE CLIENT IS THE OUT OF CONTROL PERSON. AND WHEN OTHER CLIENTS IN THE PROGRAM ARE QUESTIONED THEY ALL AGREE WITH SIR OR GET TERMINATAED AND GO BACK TO PRISON. HE HOLDS ALL OF THESE THINGS OVER THE HEADS AND USUES THEM LIKE MEAN WAEAPONS..SAVE YOURE SELF AND DO NOT GO HERE

wow this makes me extremely nervous. my son is trying desperately to get into this program as he is a full blown drug addict. he is currently incarcerated. he is begging for help this time and really wants to make changes. am I setting him up for failure in a program that he will walk out of because it’s not what we think it is?

My son just started and im getting a bad gut feeling that i paid 3000. For punishment to my son and he had enough punishment he just needs skills. Not a master or drill instructor. I pray that im just nervous and hes ok.

This is a scam. It is not rehab. There will be no contact with family. It’s a slave camp the county of Sacramento has foolishly bought into. If the person’s family has money they demand $6000 cashiers check via overnight mail to get in to this government funded poor excuse for “rehab.” What it really is would be a slave work camp where they treat the men poorly. This is run by an ex con who has conned the county of Sacramento into paying them to abuse and enslave men. They should be exposed and shut down.

I have read all the reviews on this site but have noticed a majority have come from female names. This is a Men’s Only program. So, these reviews are obviously fake. The truth is that the staff here are not “accommodating”, or “Friendly” in the least bit.

The ones up top mostly act like Meat Heads. 35-40 something year old meatheads that have a mind set where intimidation is true power. That type of “leadership” and mindset is why confidence-building is non-existent. It is a last resort type of place if you are facing some serious time, but you will not learn a valuable skill while here. There are a few exceptions if you fit in with the meat-head and back stabbing culture.

However, a majority will leave this place more fucked up than when they first got there. Some will get something out of it, but the staff has a huge turn over. They do not practice meditation like the previous review mentioned. It is work, work, work, and then go home and cook with roommates, or go to community and watch someone get ripped on for causing an “issue”, like saying something wrong, or not having a perfectly tight bed. It is military like in that regard, which can be a great thing, but you need real professionals to monitor and enforce that type of environment, not some ex-con who used to be in the program and graduated. This type of person gains a huge power trip over others and takes out his resentments on the clients.

Some of the program has positive aspects, like building good habits, but the negatives far outweigh the positives and this can be a cruel environment for most. Jericho claims to be a “Men’s training program”, but after observing some of the staff behavior, it feels more like a boys club. Some of the biggest weasels I have ever met moved up to coveted positions at this place.

There are no professional counselors hear at all. Sir wants all clients to run his program, so you have backstabbing and unprofessionalism as the norm. At least Delancey Street has taken their program more seriously and has allowed for growth. It’s still a program, but once that has lasted 50 years, and one that has actually grown into multiple locations. Jericho is doomed to be a one location only program that will eventually fade away.

Hi my name is Jeremy bush. I went to the Jericho Project in 2012 and it was really rough. They work me like a slave it was a big Hustle. Only housing was owned by Sir, all of us had to go get food stamps so you have a hundred men in the Bay Area and the owner of the program sir collected all of the money. They treated us like shit, I heard one of the councilers tell a guy that was upset because he missed his kids ” u peice of shit why dont u dwell on your kids growing up to be nothing like u because you weren’t around”. I would say only about 40% of people that went there made it longer than a week. I was miserable, my father was put into a nursing home and was doing and they wouldn’t tell me anything I found out at work and left 5 and a half months into it and my father passed away 5 week after I left the program if I would have stayed I wouldn’t of even known my dad had died while I was in the program. It isn’t a good place.
