Dr. Drew Pinsky talks about his decision to do Celebrity Rehab. I think Dr. Drew truly understands addiction but I believe that this program somehow minimizes his skill. Why do we have to have celebrities to make the point many of them do not seem to be really into it and probably do it for the publicity. According to a report in FoxNews Latino the use of children and young adults to traffic drugs across the border has increased 10 fold. This is terribly sad and no doubt many of these young kids are on a path of using drugs themselves. Because doctor are unsure of how much alcohol can bring about the disorder, they recommend total sobriety while pregnant in order to be sure that their babies will be born healthy.

It would be intriguing to see if any particular countries or cultures are significantly more successful at drug rehabilitation than others. Because each culture is different and has different ways and viewpoints regarding addiction and recovery, it’s hard to believe that every country is as successful as the others.
